My passion, philosophy

I love what I do. I see the value of counseling in my life and in the lives of those around me.

The reality is that life is hard sometimes.

Counseling has helped me work through difficult times, and break free from patterns that were no longer working. Counseling can help you stay grounded, and to focus on your values.

I truly appreciate the therapeutic process and how powerful it can be.

My personal experiences have taught me that while we all struggle, it’s important to understand when to let go and ask for help.

Acceptance and self-compassion are essential to living well, and these elements are often missing from our lives.

I want to help you see the value in putting yourself first.

You deserve to be loved and nurtured, just as much as anyone else.

I want you to feel secure being who you are so that you can not only live well, but also live with more authenticity and self compassion for yourself and for others.

Credentials

I am a licensed professional counselor supervisor and a licensed chemical dependency counselor. I received my master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Houston.

I have worked with individuals and couples in a variety of settings, including at Memorial Hermann’s Prevention and Recovery Center (PaRC) for addiction and recovery, with patients and their loved ones undergoing cancer treatment at MD Anderson Cancer Center, and at a university counseling center, working with young adults adjusting to the challenges of this new phase of life.

My approach integrates mindfulness and person-centered counseling, with acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). I’m also an EMDR Trained therapist.

I specialize in the areas of trauma, grief and loss, helping individuals and their loved ones adjust to life with cancer, medical provider burn-out, second generation adjustment issues, and lifestyle transitions for moms and women entering perimenopause or menopause.

My passion, philosophy

Something I truly enjoy is what I do for a profession. I am dedicated to making a positive difference in someone else’s life.

I have seen how counseling can be a beacon of hope, providing guidance and support during challenging times. It's a valuable tool for personal growth, healing, and self-discovery.

I have seen the transformative effect of counseling not only in my own life but also in the lives of others. Therapy has the power to help people break free from patterns that are holding them back, providing them with a fresh perspective and a renewed sense of purpose.

The therapeutic relationship is a unique space where individuals can open up, be vulnerable, and work through their issues in a safe and supportive environment. I want you to feel empowered and begin to view yourself in new and healthier ways.

I will help you develop the skills and tools to cope with life's challenges, and encourage personal growth, self-acceptance, and self-compassion.
